We are looking for an experienced Interior Designer who shares our passion in place-making. Qualified candidates should have 3 or more years of experience and relevant educational background. The Interior Designer is a specialized and highly creative design role. The Interior Designer will develop the design concepts for interior architectural design projects and new architecture projects involving interior design and will document the design.

  • Specific responsibilities of the Interior Designer may include, but shall not be limited to:
  • Participate in client meetings and confirm our understanding of the Client's project goals/requirements and communicate that to team members.
  • Develop space programming and workplace strategies for projects.
  • Participate in program development and feasibility studies.
  • Generate a design that can be technically implemented, within the constraints of the client goals, budget and within local ordinances and codes.
  • Select materials, colors, fixtures and furniture.
  • Explore alternate design directions within the constraints of the Clients program and budget, as required.
  • Review selection of building systems with the Project Interior Designer/Project Architect.
  • Create graphic formatting and story board of client presentations.
  • Lead or participate in presentations that communicate the design concepts to the Client
  • Collaborate with a team of Designers and Architects in developing design solutions that meet the Client's needs on time and within budget.
  • Participate in developing proposals, marketing presentations and lead development.
  • Develop schematic design, design development, construction documents for Interior Architecture, including developing details in conjunction with other staff.
  • Coordinate presentation drawings and in-house reviews.
  • Monitor all phases of project design execution to minimize rework.


  • NCIDQ Registered in VA, DC or MD. Interior Designer/Architect is a plus
  • 3+ years professional design experience preferably in commercial projects
  • Highly Creative, collaborative and inspiring team design leader
  • Ability to develop project programs, initial design concepts, and establish project goals
  • Client Management and user interface experience
  • Strong understanding of construction methods in Interior Architecture
  • Experience on multi-disciplined architecture teams
  • Strong interest in research-based and theoretical design concepts
  • Background and experience in business development activities
  • Knowledge of Revit
