We are currently seeking a Marketing Manager to join our small (yet mighty and growing) Marketing Team. Reporting to the Marketing Director, this position collaborates directly with Principals and business development leadership and helps facilitate the development and implementation of marketing strategies for Cooper Carry's Alexandria, VA and New York City offices.

The Marketing Manager will be instrumental in orchestrating marketing and business development efforts by managing efforts including Requests for Qualifications (RFQ) responses, Requests for Proposal (RFP) responses, project interview presentations, sponsorships, conferences, awards submissions and other marketing activities. We seek a team-oriented and collaborative leader.


The Marketing Manager will manage the following responsibilities and others without limitation:

  • Leads, coaches, trains and develops high-performing marketing coordinators
  • Participates in and facilitates the development and implementation of studio business development strategies
  • Aligns marketing team resources to prepare awards submissions, calls for session proposal responses, and other activities that reinforce business development efforts
  • Facilitates pre-pursuit activities such as studio-wide lead-tracking and coordination
  • Monitors RFP/RFQ tracking websites and distributes solicitations to relevant parties for Go / No-Go decisions
  • Conducts RFQ/RFP review and/or strategy sessions to analyze potential clients in terms of target market, project size, probability of selection and timing in order to recommend Go / No-Go decisions
  • Leads the development of pursuit win strategies and identifies Firm differentiators related to each effort
  • Plans and allocates appropriate Marketing Team resources to prepare RFQ/RFP responses, SF330 forms, collateral materials, presentations, etc.
  • Participates in and facilitates post-submission debriefs both internally and externally, tracks and analyzes feedback and provides recommendations for future improvements
  • Oversees the development of Firm resumes and project sheets
  • Researches and gathers market information related to potential clients and projects
  • Leads and/or participates in proposal meetings, project interview planning and presentation rehearsals
  • Edit final documentation to maintain quality and ensure alignment with Brand Standards and solicitation requirements
  • Organizes marketing resources to maximize the Firm's participation at conferences, events and exhibits
  • Builds collaborative relationships with operations, technical, marketing and design staff to facilitate knowledge-sharing and effective business development efforts.
  • Aligns marketing team resources to prepare awards submissions, calls for session proposal responses and other activities that reinforce business development efforts

  • Supervises marketing coordinators.


  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years relevant experience in the A/E/C Industry with a minimum of two years in a management role
  • Experience managing complex projects independently
  • Strong written, editing, project management and communication skills
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and delivers results with minimal oversight
  • Resourceful - able to proactively acquire information and quickly understand complex requirements and requests
  • Excellent leadership, mentoring, and teaching skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills and presence to interact with all levels in an organization
  • Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, etc.) and quick, curious learner of new technologies
